Dr. Gregory L. Combs, as the youngest of four sons, grew up with the energy and stimulation provided by a very dynamic family. Inspired by his father, a research nutritionist who worked on world hunger and malnutrition, he pursued a career path toward clinical medicine. With a B.S. in Zoology from Colorado State University, and an M.D. from Vanderbilt University, Dr. Combs came to the Pacific Northwest to begin the study of General Surgery. Initially intrigued by the technical demands and delicacy of hand surgery, he discovered the field of Plastic Surgery, with its many fascinating sub-specialties, all defined by exquisite attention to detail, passionate commitment to excellence, and continual learning and improvement. In 1993, he joined a private practice in the Portland metropolitan area, providing a wide variety of plastic surgery services in the community. Over time he has honed his skills in cosmetic surgery of the face and body, reconstructive hand surgery, and reconstructive surgery of the breast, face, and body.
Dr. Combs is married, a father of two daughters, and enjoys running, reading, gardening, and being out of doors. He serves as the Medical Staff President at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center and derives great satisfaction from donating his services medical missions abroad.
